The Minister of the Interior for Libya’s Government of National Accord, Fathi Bashagha, announced the enhancement of the ministry's capabilities through a new partnership with Airbus, saying “we will soon receive 10 modern and fully equipped helicopters.”

He explained in a tweet on his official account on Saturday: These aircraft "will be used for the purposes of combating organized crime and terrorist groups, search and rescue, border and coastal surveillance, human smuggling lines, and civilian safety tasks."

Last Wednesday, Bashagha began a visit to France, during which he signed a memorandum of understanding with a French security institution specialized in biometric identification for security and civil purposes.

He discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint action between Libya and France in "areas related to security affairs,” with French Defense Minister Florence Parly and also met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Interior Minister Gerald Darmanan.
