The Commander of the Libyan National Army, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received on Wednesday, a delegation of elders from the Hassawna tribe at his office at the headquarters of the Army General Command.
In a statement, the General Command's Information Office said that the tribe’s delegation emphasized “the importance of the role of the National Army in protecting the country and ridding the southern cities in particular of extremist and criminal groups,” noting the efforts of the “General Command and what it is trying to do to bring peace.”
In turn, Marshal Haftar praised "the efforts of the Hasawna tribe’s people and their standing by their country's army in its war against terrorism and invaders.”
At the end of October, Marshal Haftar received a delegation of elders from the Tuareg tribe. During that meeting, "the delegation from the Tuareg tribe praised the efforts of the armed forces in securing the cities of the south and their continuous efforts to curb criminal operations and cross-border smuggling operations."
