The German Ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza, held a phone conversation with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguilah Saleh, during which they discussed the results of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum, which was held in the Tunisian capital under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya.

Owcza described the phone call with Saleh as "friendly" in a tweet and said that he discussed "the role of the House of Representatives in the electoral roadmap in addition to the importance of appropriate regional representation in the upcoming elections for the temporary executive structure", in reference to the executive authority expected to emerge.

The direct meetings of the first round of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum were concluded Sunday evening and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya announced during a press conference at the conclusion of the meetings that the participants would resume their discussions during the next week virtually.

Williams confirmed that the first round of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum ended with the participants agreeing on three important files, including the terms of reference of the executive authority, the criteria for candidacy and the roadmap, and it was also agreed to separate the presidential council and prime minister, and to set the date for the elections on December 24, 2021.
