Libyan Airlines on Monday morning organized its first flights from Mitiga International Airport to Tunis' Carthage Airport, after an eight-month hiatus.

Flights from Mitiga to Carthage will run three times a week on Saturdays, Mondays and Thursdays, at 8:00 a.m., according to a statement.

In a related context, movement between Libya and Tunisia returned to normal last Saturday, following closures due to coronavirus, which has had widespread social and economic repercussions.

The border was closed at the end of March as part of measures to curb the spread of the virus, which hindered the movement of Libyans and Tunisians moving between the two countries.
