The head of the Libya's High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri and his accompanying delegation arrived in the Qatari capital onSaturday, in response to an invitation addressed to him by the head of the Qatari Shura Council, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud.
The media office of the High State Council said in a statement that the head of the Qatari Shura Council received Al-Mishri upon his arrival in Doha, pointing out that the visit comes to "coordinate positions on issues of common concern between the two brotherly countries."
On Monday, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received both the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Siala and the Minister of Interior Fathi Bashagha in Doha. During the meeting, the Emir expressed his wish for a "continuation of the ceasefire recently signed in Libya," and said that "the Libyan people cannot accept interference in their choices from any brotherly or friendly country."
During the visit, Bashagha and his Qatari counterpart signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of security cooperation, which focused on "combating terrorism, money laundering, economic and electronic crimes."
