The spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, condemned the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the Government of National Accord's (GNA) Interior Ministry for security cooperation with the State of Qatar, which he considered "the biggest supporter of terrorism in Libya," describing the move as a "malicious attempt to undermine what the Libyan army officers agreed upon in Geneva."

Al-Mismari said on Monday, “The State of Qatar, which is the biggest supporter of terrorism, has used its agents to sign what is called a security agreement but is a violation of the outcomes of the 5 + 5 Geneva Dialogue.”

Al-Mismari described this step as "a malicious attempt to undermine what the Libyan army officers agreed upon in Geneva regarding the ceasefire, stopping the escalation and ending the destructive foreign intervention in the Libyan affairs."

The Minister of Interior in the Government of National Accord, Fathi Bashagha, signed an MoU in the field of security cooperation, during a visit to the Qatari capital, Doha on Monday. The agreement focused on areas: combating terrorism, money laundering, economic and electronic crimes.

The Qatar News Agency said that the MoU signed between the Ministries of Interior of the two countries aims to "strengthen cooperation in the security field in a way that serves the interest of the two brotherly countries."
