The Minister of the Interior for Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bashagha, confirmed that the ministry “detected flagrant legal violations” by “official authorities,” indicating that it referred the matter to the head of the Presidential Council “out of respect for jurisdiction.” The comments appear to reference the kidnapping of the head of the Libyan Media Foundation, Mohamed Baaio by the so-called "Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade."

Bashagha said on Thursday, “The Ministry of the Interior has detected flagrant legal violations issued, unfortunately, by official bodies against of the sanctity of private property and the seizure of freedom without legal authority."

Bashagha stressed in a second tweet that "it is not possible to fight tyranny with tyranny or raise the slogan of the civil state using repressive means, and it is not possible to call for a state of laws by violating the law, violating the sanctity of private property and terrorizing individuals in their homes."
