The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) on Thursday called for the release of Mohamed Baaio, head of the Libyan Media Corporation.
"UNSMIL deplores the recent unlawful arrest of head of the Libyan Media Corporation Mohamed Omar Baaio. The mission calls for his immediate and unconditional release," UNSMIL said in a statement.
The statement revealed that Baaio was arrested on Oct. 20, along with his two sons and the newly appointed head of programmes at the Libya al-Wataniya TV channel Hind Ammar.
It said that the two sons were released soon after the arrest, while Ammar was released last night.
