The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday, that it has started organizing a training course for Libyan Coast Guard members, within the framework of the Military Training, Cooperation and Consultation Agreement.
The ministry said on its Twitter account: “Within the framework of the military cooperation and consultations agreement, we continue training for the Libyan armed forces. As a result of coordination with the local elements, training began for Libyan Coast Guard soldiers."
The ministry published, through its Twitter account, photos of the training operations with one of the naval vessels supervised by Turkish soldiers.
Turkey and the Government of National Accord signed two memoranda of understanding regarding maritime powers and cooperation in the security and military fields on November 27, 2019, which sparked widespread debate locally and internationally.
