The Russian Foreign Ministry said that there is an agreement between Cairo and Moscow to increase coordination in order to facilitate the establishment of a constructive dialogue between the Libyans, with the participation of all major political forces and associations, with the aim of ensuring the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Libya, in accordance with the decisions of the Berlin conference and Security Council Resolution 2510.
This came in a statement about the meeting that gathered diplomatic delegations from the two countries in Moscow, on Tuesday, where the ministry indicated "an in-depth exchange of views on issues of a comprehensive settlement of the military-political crisis in Libya."
The Russian side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and on the Egyptian side, Assistant Foreign Minister Mohmed Abu Bakr.
On Monday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a phone call with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov about the developments of the situation in Libya.
Shoukry stressed "the importance of freezing the situation" in Libya, reaching a comprehensive and official ceasefire agreement, "dismantling the militias and removing of all foreign forces from Libyan territory."
