The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Othman Jerandi, called for addressing the Libyan crisis through a political solution in which all parties participate without discrimination or exclusion, during consultations with the Algerian ambassador to Tunisia, Azouz Baalal.

The meeting dealt with the latest developments in the region, as "the Tunisian minister noted the convergence of views with Algeria regarding the Libyan crisis, which must be addressed through a political solution in which all Libyans participate without discrimination or exclusion."

Jerandi stressed that "neighboring countries have an important role in any political process aimed at resolving the crisis in a way that preserves security and stability in this brother country and in the region as a whole," according to a statement released on Tuesday.

According to the statement, Jerandi reaffirmed that the current developments in the Arab and Mediterranean region require raising the level of coordination and consultation between Tunisia and Algeria and joint action to address the challenges facing the two countries.
