Aguila Saleh calls for urgent meeting to meet demands of protesters in Benghazi

The Speaker of Libya's House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, called on Thursday evening, the Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thinni, the Governor of the Central Bank in Benghazi, Ali Al-Hibri, the Director of the Brega Company, and the heads of the Parliament's specific committees for an urgent meeting to meet the demands of the protesters in the city of Benghazi.

The spokesman for the House of Representatives, Abdullah Bleihaq, tells Alwasat that the meeting will be held at Interim Government headquartes in the Qirnada region.

A number of citizens demonstrated in the city of Benghazi, on Thursday, in protest against what they described as “poor services and the complete absence of state institutions,” protesters set tires on fire and closed Jamal Abdel Nasser Street, according a Wtv correspondent.

The protesters chanted slogans against corruption and injustice, calling for the fall of all political bodies and holding them responsible for the state of affairs in Libya.
