The media office Libya's Presidential Council said that Fayez Al-Sarraj received an invitation from the French President Emmanuel Macron to visit Paris.
The media office added that Macron's invitation was received by Al-Sarraj on Sunday, during a phone call from the French ambassador to Libya, Beatrice du Helen.
The call between Al-Sarraj and the French ambassador discussed the latest developments in Libya and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The ambassador also conveyed during the call the greetings of French President Emmanuel Macron and renewed her country's support for the peace initiative proposed by Al-Sarraj on August 21.
The media office confirmed that Al-Sarraj "accepted the invitation, stressing that what he proposed in his statement includes a ceasefire, moving forward towards elections and resuming oil production and export, which needs the support of all friends."
