Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country will continue to implement its agreements with Libya, referring to the two memoranda of understanding signed with the Government of National Accord (GNA) regarding the demarcation of maritime borders, security and military cooperation.

He added that Ankara does not need to be in discussion with those who do not have any rights in maritime areas, adding that Greece has no borders with Libya or Egypt, and it is not entitled to sign an agreement to set maritime borders with Cairo, according to a statement on Friday.

On Thursday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Greek counterpart, Nikos Dendias, signed an agreement defining maritime borders and economic zones between the two countries.

Erdogan announced that he had informed German Chancellor Angela Merkel that his country was continuing the exploration process because Greece had not fulfilled its promises and signed that agreement.
