A fire broke at the departure hall at Misrata International Airport on Monday evening. According to witnesses civil defense forces rushed to control it.
Pictures on social media showed flames taking over a large part of the hall.
Earlier Monday, the airport welcomed 230 Libyan citizens returning from Turkey, who underwent medical checks inside Libya and Turkey, in compliance with precautionary measures, according to the National Center for Disease Control.
Misrata International Airport returned to returned to service on July 26 after instructions from the Presidential Council.
