The Speaker of Libya's House of Representatives, Aguil Saleh, confirmed that he is awaiting support from the Italian authorities to help solve the Libyan crisis pointing to the existence of a true partnership with Rome and its expected role of it in "reconstruction projects."

Saleh said: "I am waiting for support to resolve the crisis and urge the United Nations Mission in Libya to expedite the call of the dialogue committee to form the new executive authority from a president, two deputies, a prime minister and a presidential council, each region designating whom represents in this council," in a statement reported by Italian news agency Aki on Tuesday.

That interview came hours before scheduled meetings in Rome between Saleh with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, the leaders of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
