Turkish ambassador affirms his country's support for the GNA in extending control over all of Libya's territory

Turkey's ambassador to Libya, Serhat Aksen, confirmed his country's continued support for Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) until it extends its control over the entirety of the country's soil and helps it build the army and police institutions.

This came during his meeting with Presidential Council member, Abdulsalam Kajman on Wednesday, in a meeting that dealt with supporting and developing prospects of joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, according to a statement.

The meeting also discussed Turkey's contribution to solving the electricity problem in Libya in coordination with officials from the General Electricity Company and the the return of Turkish companies to complete previously contracted projects.

ON Tuesday, the head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, discussed with a number of government officials the return of Turkish companies and investments to Libya, stressing the importance of resuming work on stalled projects, and that "this return will be a starting point for a deliberate and balanced process of partnership between the two friendly countries that includes the private sector in Libya."
