Erdogan and Trump discuss developments in Libyan crisis by phone

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced he held a phone conversation with his American counterpart Donald Trump on regional developments, especially the Libyan crisis.

Erdogan said, during a television interview with the Turkish channel TRT, on Monday evening: "America is following the situation in Libya and Trump confirmed Turkey's success in its endeavors in Libya."

He added: "After contacting the US President, we can say that a new stage will start for Turkey and that further steps will be taken, such as contacting Russian President Putin."
