The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, confirmed the intention of the Government of National Accord (GNA) to extend state control over all of the country's lands, expressing his aspiration for the return of the Turkish companies for the reconstruction of Libya.
Al-Sarraj's statement came during a joint press conference held with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Thursday.
Al-Sarraj said that "our battle is still ongoing," stressing that "there is no compromise in implementing justice and law to hold all those who committed crimes against the Libyans accountable."
"Your bet has been lost and history will have no mercy," said Al-Sarraj, referring to those supporting the forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who launched a military operation to control of Tripoli in April 2019.
During the press conference, Al-Sarraj concluded by thanking Turkey for "standing with Libya and its people and defending the legitimate government."
