Col. Gnounou announces GNA forces have taken control of Tripoli Airport from LNA

The spokesman for Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA) forces, Colonel Muhammad Gnounou, announced on Wednesday, that his forces have taken control of Tripoli Airport and "chased them off the remnants of" the Libyan National Army (LNA) troops who "fled" towards Qasr Bin Ghashir, according to a statement.

The battles continue in most fronts around Tripoli, despite the announcement by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya that the parties to the Libyan conflict accepted a return to the military negotiating table that emerged from the Berlin International Conference held last January.

After a series of air strikes, the spokesman for LNA forces, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, announced on Monday, "the regaining of control over the Al-Asaba area", which is adjacent to the city of Gharyan. GNA forces had take control over Al-Asaba on May 21.
