The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, agreed with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on coordination between the two countries in confronting the novel coronavirus and dealing with its repercussions.
This came during a phone call between Al-Sarraj and the Emir, on Thursday, that dealt with developments in the situation in Libya and the coronavirus crisis.
Al-Sarraj also expressed his thanks for Qatar's support to Libyan efforts to confront the epidemic, according to a statement.
In another context, the Emir of Qatar reaffirmed his country's support for Al-Sarraj's government in "confronting the aggression against the capital and other Libyan cities," calling for the immediate cessation of "repeated shelling of residential areas in Tripoli," and affirming his country's keenness also to achieve stability in Libya, according to the statement.
