Coffee shop owners in Misrata arrested for ignoring coronavirus curfew

Security forces in Misurata arrested a number of coffee shop owners in violation of the coronavirus curfew.

Libya's Presidential Council had issued a decision to close cafes that offer hookah to its customers, while allowing other coffee shops to remain open during non-curfew hours.

Patrols from the General Administration for Security Operations in Misrata have continued to inspect the implementation of the ban in all the city's streets, according to the directions Govenment of National Accords's (GNA) Ministry of Interior a statement said on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, the mayor of Misrata issued a curfew as a result showed the presence of coronavirus cases in the city.
