Al-Sarraj: "Peace Storm" operation a response to "the continuous violations" of the truce

The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, said that the forces of the Government of National Accord (GNA) "carried out their duties efficiently and competently" through the "Peace Storm" operation that began Wednesday, stressing that the operation comes in response to "the continuous violations of the truce" that resulted in "civilian casualties" among them are children and women.

Al-Sarraj explained that operation "Peace Storm" is a retaliation for the victims of the ongoing violations of the truce, stressing that the forces of the GNA "will respond strongly to the sources of any aggression against them," according to a statement.

Al-Sarraj added that the "continual bombing of residential neighborhoods in Tripoli has not stopped during the truce," considering these actions, "a disregard and disdain" for the outcomes the Berlin Conference, UN resolutions and the security of Libyans.
