CDC Director: Libya's first coronavirus patient in stable condition

The Director General of the National Center for Disease Control (CDC), Dr. Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, said that the country's first coronavirus case announced late Tuesday, belongs to a 73-year-old man who returned from traveling to Saudi Arabai on March 5.

In a televised statement, Al-Najjar added that he showed that the man was suffering from a high temperature and symptoms of respiratory infection, accompanied by shortness of breath, when he received a medical exam in a hospital in Tripoli.

Adding: "The patient is being isolated in a hospital after receiving medical care and is now in a stable condition."

Al-Najjar also pointed to the CDC's follow-up procedures to track and examine all those who came in contact with the patient.
