The Ministry of Health for Libya's Interim Government said on Thursday that it has tightened measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus from ports, airports and border crossings, noting that it also allocated quarantine areas in the event that people are suspected of carrying the virus. Libya has not yet recorded any infection with the new Coronavirus.
"We have taken all precautionary measures at international outlets and airports, activated thermal measurement devices, and work is underway to equip them with detectors and thermal cameras," Minister Saad Okoub said Thursday.
Aqoub pointed out that the ministry "provided rooms for quarantine and care in Al-Kuwayfiya hospital and an isolation department in the municipality of Musaid, in anticipation of any emergency, with the aim of examining the arrivals with the latest equipment and ambulances equipped with self-sterilization methods to combat the transmission of infection."
Minister Saad Okoub pointed out that "preventive measures against the infiltration of the Coronavirus are carried out in coordination with the National Center for Disease Control, municipalities and the World Health Organization with the aim of limiting and preventing the virus."
