Erdogan: We are in Libya to end injustice

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, Thursday, that his country is in Libya "to end the injustice only, and based on an invitation I received from it."

Erdogan added that Turkey will continue to defend its rights and interests in Iraq, Syria and the Mediterranean Sea until the end, according to statements published by the Turkish Anadolu News Agency.

On November 27, Ankara signed two memoranda of understanding on maritime boundries, security and military cooperation, with Libya's Government of National Accord.

During their summit in Istanbul yesterday, Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin called for "the announcement of a truce starting Saturday night" in Libya, and agreed to return to the path of the Berlin conference, through "expressing their willingness to contribute to the success of the Berlin process to move forward with the settlement" .
