Authorities seize 160,000 liters of fuel from smugglers in Jalu

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Jalu Security Directorate managed to raid targeting a fuel smuggling operation on Sunday, arresting “a Libyan and a number of African nationals”, in possession of 160,000 liters of fuel.

The Jalu Security Directorate announced in a statement today that a force headed by Security Director Lt. Col. Khaled Al-Abbar and the Criminal Investigation Department managed to raid a farm used as a cache to store and smuggle fuel in huge quantities.

The Directorate explained that this security operation, was first of its kind within the scope of the Directorate, brought down " group of criminals that exploited the city of Jalu and Libya as a whole."

The Directorate indicated that the owner of the farm charged a fee of 1,000 dinars per vehicle for the use of his land as a depot.
