Head of GNA Maritime Boundaries Committee says consultations with Turkey began in 2010

The head of the Land and Maritime Boundaries Committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Government of National Accord said the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Turkey was not the result of the moment.

He explained in statements to the Libya Channel, that "the consultations began in 2010 after the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Libya with correspondence continuing between the two sides."

He also revealed that "Libya sent all these resolutions to its permanent representative in the United Nations and informed all countries."
