Afriqiyah Airways cancels flight to Egypt in protest of Interim Government decision

Afriqiyah Airways said on Wednesday it had canceled a flight to Alexandria on Wednesday to protest the decision of the Interim Government's Transport Authority.

The Transport Authority for Libya's Interim Government has obliged airlines operating from Misrata and Mitiga airports to Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, and Saudi Arabia to land at Benghazi's Benina airport to complete security and customs procedures.

In a letter addressed to the airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority announced on Wednesday, that this procedure will be implemented as of tomorrow, Thursday, 14 November.

Alwasat has learned that a meeting is being held in the meantime between the Government of National Accord and the airports affected by this decision.
