Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte held a discussion with his Tunisian counterpart Youssef Chahed, who is visiting the Italian capital Rome, on the latest developments in the Libyan crisis.

Conte was delivered a written message from Tunisian President Qais Said, according to a brief statement carried by the Italian news agency AKI on Wednesday, without mentioning its content.

The meeting comes amid continued preparations for the Berlin conference, which is supported by Italy. On Monday, Conte met German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Rome, where they stressed at a joint press conference the need for a quick ceasefire in Libya.
