The spokesman for the Libyan National Army (LNA) announced on Wednesday that airstrikes destroyed a drone operation facility and drones stores belonging to the forces of the Government of National Accord (GNA) in the city of Sirte, some 450 east of the capital Tripoli.
"In the early hours of today, fighter jets of the air force carried out a combat mission. Different objectives have been determined in Gardabiya air base in Sirte, including a military drones operation facility and some sites used to store and conceal drones and antennas," Ahmad Al-Mismari, the spokesman, said in a statement.
"Several fighter jets carried out airstrikes accurately and destroyed the objectives. The threats have been eliminated," the statement added.
For over seven months, the LNA has been leading a military campaign in and around Tripoli, attempting to take over the city and topple the GNA.
