The head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Sarraj, inspected the site of the aerial bombardment that targeted houses in the Al-Furnaj area in the capital Tripoli on Monday morning, killing and injuring a number of citizens, including children and women.

The media office for the Presidential Council said that the shelling targeted "a two-story house inhabited by a displaced family and instantly turned it into rubble," pointing out that Al-Sarraj "offered condolences to a man who lost his wife and three children, he also reviewed the damage to a number of nearby buildings, including houses, a mosque and the headquarters of the Ministry of Health."

Al-Sarraj blamed the bombing on the warplanes of the General Command, stressing during an inspection of the air strike site that "the bombing is a deliberate targeting of civilians and residential neighborhoods, and is a brutal war crime that will not go unpunished."
