Spokesman for the General Command, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, responded to the statements of the United Nations envoy and head of the support mission in Libya, Ghassan Salamé, in an interview published in the French newspaper Liberation on Sunday, in which he pointed out that Marshal Khalifa Haftar "set conditions for a possible withdrawal," and "want guarantees regarding important positions in the state."

"In response to Mr. Salamé's remarks, which he said were misrepresented, the commander of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has never and will never negotiate for a position," he said.

Al-Mismari did not address Salamé's statement in the interview about the possible withdrawal from Tripoli, but stressed that "the armed forces are continuing in the war on terrorism and crime, until the liberation of all the soil of the precious homeland, so Libyans can exercise their democratic rights in a safe environment, with aneconomically stable life.”
