Italian ambassador expresses concern over the closure of Mitiga airport

The Italian ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Grimaldi, expressed his deep concern over the closure of Mitiga International Airport and its repeated bombardment, which is the only one operating for the capital Tripoli.

This came during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Government of National Accord, Mohamed Taher Sayala. The two sides called for the need to provide full guarantees not to repeat these bombing, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the other hand, the two sides touched on the issue of handing over a number of boats to the Libyan Coast Guard and to sign memorandum of understanding between the Libyan and Italian Ministries of Defense in this regard.
