The head of the illegal immigration agency in Kufra, south-east of Libya, Lieutenant Mohamed al-Fadil said that the agency deported "60 illegal immigrants" on Monday to Sudan, noting that another group will be deported to Sudan in the coming days.

Al-Fadil said in a telephone conversation with Alwasat on Wednesday, that the Anti-Illegal Immigration Service in Kufra received "171 illegal immigrants from the Ganfouda shelter in Benghazi after verifying their identities in cooperation with the Sudanese and Chadian embassies in preparation for deportation to their countries."

Al-Fadi stressed that his agency "takes into account the migrants who have financial obligations inside Libya or suffer from illness because of the difficulty of the desert road and the hardship of travel on them."
