Libya Interim Government Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni on Monday discussed preparations for municipal elections in all municipalities under the control of the interim government during a meeting in Benghazi with local government minister Adel al-Zaidi and the committee charged with overseeing elections.
A statement issued by the interim government said that the two discussed plans set by the committee and the procedures for conducting the electoral process in the best manner.
At a press conference, Al-Thnini announced the start of the municipal council elections under the supervision of the High Committee for Municipal Elections.
He stressed all preparations for the elections had been completed, calling on the Libyan people to meet their responsibilities and choose the best candidates. Noting that the vote will be held in the next 90 days.
