Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, stressed that there is an urgent need to return to a stable and secure Libya.
This came during a meeting between Grimaldi and Foreign Affairs Minister, Mohamed Siala; in which they discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Italian embassy, in a tweet through its official page, said that Siala and Grimaldi discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the areas of migration, trade, capacity building, education and culture.
Ambassador Grimaldi also held talks on Sunday with officials from the city of Misrata to support the political process and promote economic cooperation.
"The visit of Ambassador Grimaldi to Misrata comes in the context of efforts to support the United Nations-led political process and strengthen cooperation with Italy and Italian companies," the Italian embassy in Libya said.
