The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) donated two fully equipped ambulances to the Libyan Red Crescent and the Al-Sawani Municipality in Tripoli.

The two vehicles were delivered at a ceremony organized by the United Nations mission in Tripoli on Monday, in the presence of UN envoy Ghassan Salamé and the deputy head of the mission, Matthew Brooke.

"The ongoing conflict has led to unprecedented pressure on all medical facilities in and around Tripoli," the mission said.

Tripoli has been witnessing armed clashes since April 4, between the army forces of the General Command led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar and the forces of the Government of National Accord, leaving 607 dead and 3261 wounded, according to the World Health Organization.
