The head of Libya's Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Sarraj, will visit Algeria on Thursday to discuss internal and regional developments, Algerian diplomatic sources said.
The sources told the German news agency that Al-Sarraj will meet Algerian President Abdelkader Bensalah in Algiers. He will also meet with Prime Minister Noureddine Badawi.
Al-Sarraj is expected to discuss the situation in Libya with senior officials in Algeria, especially the fighting in the vicinity of the capital Tripoli.
Al-Sarraj described his recent European tour as "successful", stressing that there is an international understanding of what is happening in Libya and that Western countries are fully aware of the situation in Libya.
In an interview with Euronews on Wednesday evening he stressed that his tour was not aimed at obtaining military support, equipment or weapons.
