The Commander of the Libyan armed forces, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, met with the UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salamé, at General Command headquarters 30 kilometers east of Benghazi.

"We discussed with him the latest developments on the domestic and international arenas," said the command's information office on Wednesday.

The United Nations envoy Ghassan Salamé said on Monday that he would announce the date of the Libyan National Forum "within days" and that "it will be held in less than a month," noting that the mission is currently working to complete some of the necessary logistical arrangements in this regard.

On the meeting in Abu Dhabi, Ghassan Salamé revealed in an interview with the 'Libya Al Ahrar' TV channel that he learned "three weeks ago that Haftar had medical examinations in Abu Dhabi and that Al-Sarraj was going to the UAE on an official visit to meet with the Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, so I told them that they will be in the same country at the same time and that's how the meeting happened."
