The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, met Sunday with the Emir of QatarSheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani to discuss bilateral relations and means of enhancing them.
The Information Office for the Presidential Council said Al-Sarraj stressed "a political solution to the Libyan crisis, the importance of national consensus, unification of sovereign institutions and conducting elections by the end of this year in accordance with the plan of the UN envoy Salamé."
Al-Sarraj expressed his hope that the State of Qatar and brotherly and friendly countries will join forces in this endeavor.
For his part, the Emir expressed "his country's support for the choices of the Libyan people, and that it was time for Libya to enjoy security and stability and begin the process of construction and development."
The Information Office Fayez Al-Sarraj had arrived in Doha on Saturday evening on a short visit.
