Dozens of civil society activists organized a protest in Benghazi to support the army and demand the departure of UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salamé.

The protesters held pictures of Ghassan Salamé, the head of the presidential council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, Major General Usama al-Juwaili and General Ali Kanna with red "X" signs reading "The people of Benghazi are demanding the departure of Ghassan Salamé" and "Libya is not for sale or a bargaining chip."

The spokesman for the General Command, Brigadier General Ahmad Al-Mismari, recently made comments that UN envoy Ghassan Salamé "became part of the crisis" and when he denied the role of the Libyan Armed Forces in securing the country.
