The Libyan Customs Authority said on Wednesday that it seized nine armored military vehicles at the Khoms port, some 120 km east of the capital Tripoli.
In coordination with the customs center of the port of Khoms, the Anti-Smuggling and Drug Control Section "managed to seize nine four-wheel-drive vehicles inside five containers in the storage area of the port," the department said.
The official spokesman for the Customs Authority, Fahmi Hussain al-Maqouri, said that the shipment had come from Turkey.
A comprehensive investigation has been launched into the case.
Earlier in January, the Libyan authorities seized more than 20,000 Turkish guns inside a container at the port of Misurata, some 250 km east of Tripoli.
