The head of Libya's Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj and the Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya Ghassan Salamé held a meeting in Tripoli and discussed preparations for the upcoming national conference on Thursday.
A statement issued by the UN mission on its Facebook page said that Ghassan Salamé urged "the need to accelerate the implementation of security arrangements in Tripoli and continue economic reforms and provide services to citizens."
"During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on the steps taken by the UN mission to ensure the success of the national conference to be held soon, which will gather political, social and cultural representatives without excluding anyone," said a statement issued by the Presidential Council's information office.
The Libyan national conference is expected to discuss the upcoming elections, constitution, mechanisms of resource allocation, and national reconciliation.
On Tuesday, the UN mission said that all information including the date, venue and other details of the conference will be announced on the mission's communications channels, and invitations to the event "will be sent out to expected participants, only from the mission."
