NATO says ready to contribute to efforts to build Libya's military and security institutions

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed NATO's readiness to "contribute" and support the efforts of the Government of National Accord in Libya to build the country's military and security institutions said the Information Office for Libya's Presidential Council.

The Information Office said Fayez Al-Sarraj and Stoltenberg discussed "the political and security situation in Libya." Stoltenberg confirmed during the meeting that the alliance supports the efforts of the Government of National Accord in building the military and security foundation of Libya and is ready to contribute to it.

Stoltenberg pointed out that the alliance "supports the efforts of the UN mission and the plan of action of Mr. Ghassan Salamé to achieve a political solution that unites the institutions of the state and end the state of conflict and division."
