A delegation from the city of Misrata arrived in Rome on Friday from Paris where they held a meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, the AKI news agency reported.
According to the report, the movement of the Libyan delegations (political - military) from Paris to Rome refutes what is being circulated about the lack of cooperation from the French with Italy on the Libyan file.
The report reitirated that there was "daily" contact between Italian and French officials, citing a meeting last Tuesday between senior officials of the French presidency and their counterparts from the Italian side on the Libyan file.
During a visit to Tunisia a week ago, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte described French President Emmanuel Macron's support for the conference as "essential."
On Monday, the Italian authorities will host the international conference on Libya in Palermo, Sicily.
