The Speaker of Libya's House of Representatives, Ageila Saleh, received the Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Emanuela Claudia and her accompanying delegation at his residence in Al-Qubba,.
In a statement published on the website of the House of Representatives, spokesman Abdullah Belhaiq said that Saleh "discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of imporving them."
The statement added that the meeting also discussed the "latest developments in the political situation in Libya", in light of the recent security and political developments.
"The Deputy Foreign Minister of Italy also handed the Speaker of the House of Representatives an invitation to participate in the international conference, which Italy intends to organize next month on Libya."
Over the past few days, the Italian government has intensified its contacts and statements in preparation for the international conference on Libya, which will be held on 12th and 13th of November in Palermo, Sicily.
