"The situation in Tripoli will not remain as it is," said General Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces Marshal Khalifa Haftar. "What is happening there is not related to the army, but we will not remain idle in front of what is happening to the citizens in terms of violations and killings."
Haftar met with a delegation of elders and dignitaries of western and southern Libya who visited him Monday in the city of Benghazi "to demand that he intervene to put an end to what is happening in Tripoli and discuss some problems in the south."
The General Command Information Office said that Haftar assured the delegation that "the army will move in a timely manner for the people who are fed up with the rivalry of armed militias."
The General Command Information Office said that the delegation of elders, dignitaries and wise men of the western and southern regions of Libya congratulated Marshal Khalifa Hafer on "the victory of the armed forces against the obscurantist groups in the east of the country and the extension of their security and they affirm their support for the armed forces under his leadership"
