Lawyer Khalid al-Zaidi said Gaddafi's widow, Safia Farkash, had charged him with French lawyer Fabian Perez to file a complaint with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
"Both Hashim Ali Bishr and Haytham Ahmad Abdullah al-Qaba'ili, known as Haytham al-Tagouri, who run Ain Zara prison where Saadi Gaddafi is located, continue to detain him arbitrarily for unknown reasons," said Khaled al-Zaidi, a lawyer for the Gaddafi family. A judicial ruling acquitted of the charges against him early last April.
Al-Zaidi pointed out that "this arbitrary detention of an innocent person is a crime in violation of international conventions, especially Article IX of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that no one can be arrested or detained arbitrarily unjust, and is a disruption to the orders of the Libyan judiciary».
The lawyer Khalid al-Zaidi also revealed the deteriorating health of Saadi Gaddafi inside the prison, pointing out that he needs an "operation."
Adding, "The medical team responsible for the prisoners confirmed that Gaddafi's son suffers from serious diseases that requires surgery."
