The head of the Libyan Armed Forces Marshal Khalifa Haftar received French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and his accompanying delegation at General Command headquarters in the Al-Rajmah area of Benghazi.
The Information Office of Army General Command said on its Facebook page that the meeting between Marshal Haftar and the French Foreign Minister was devoted to "discussing many developments at various local and international levels" without giving further details.
The French foreign minister arrived at Benina airport in Benghazi from Misrata after meeting with a number of representatives of the city and its municipal council. He also held meetings with Presidential Council PM Fayez Serraj, Foreign Minister of the National Reconciliation Government Mohamed Siyala and a number of military leaders in the western region.
The meeting is part of a Libyan tour by Le Drian as part of the follow-up to the Paris Declaration issued on May 29.
